The Continuing Education College of Nanyang Institute of Technology was established in July 1993. It is the administrative department for adult continuing education at Nanyang Institute of Technology, responsible for the teaching, enrollment, student registration, adult student management, and non-degree school-local government cooperative training programs for adult higher education. Currently, it mainly offers adult higher education at the undergraduate and associate degree levels, as well as non-degree short-term training programs. It currently has five internal departments: the Party and Government Office, the Academic Affairs Department, the Student Affairs Department, the Enrollment Department, and the Training Department. There are 13 faculty and staff members and over 3,600 enrolled students.Since its establishment, the college has consistently adhered to correct educational philosophies and positioning, focusing on the needs of local economic development for applied talents. It is committed to developing adult higher education with high standards, comprehensive educational functions, and distinctive characteristics, gradually forming a multi-disciplinary, multi-level, and multi-form educational structure. Currently, adult higher education mainly offers associate and bachelor's degrees, with learning formats primarily part-time and correspondence courses. The majors offered cover science and engineering, literature and history, economics and management, medicine, law, and education, totaling 19 associate and bachelor's degree programs.
For many years, the college has focused on cultivating high-quality, application-oriented talents with strong theoretical foundations, practical skills, and good humanistic qualities to meet the needs of local economic and social development in management, production, construction, and service sectors. It strives to implement the working principle of "survival through quality and development through reform" in its education and teaching. The college attaches great importance to every detail of teaching organization, operation, and support, emphasizing practical components in professional courses and cultivating students' practical skills. This ensures that students gain knowledge, skills, and practical applications through adult education. The college emphasizes the student's central role in adult education, focusing on their comprehensive development in skills, qualities, and practical work abilities, thus enhancing graduates' competitiveness in employment or their professional positions.
Relying on the comprehensive infrastructure, excellent educational conditions, and strong faculty of Nanyang Institute of Technology, the college vigorously carries out short- and medium-term training programs in adult non-degree education, providing long-term professional knowledge training in computer applications, administrative management, and business management for local government agencies, enterprises, and institutions. We have established strong partnerships with dozens of local organizations and departments, training a large number of technical and management personnel for their positions.
